All Souls: A Family Story from Southie (Ballantine Reader's Circle)

All Souls: A Family Story from Southie - Michael Patrick MacDonald i think i cried from almost the first page to the last page in this book (perhaps for more reasons than the author intended). worthwhile story, decently written.when i was in photography school in boston i would sometimes take the train and just get off anywhere and start photographing. i once ended up in south boston, and i've never felt so much like i didn't belong in a place as when i was there, even though it seemed different than how he describes it. (which, to an outsider anyway, is a lot like the people and town (lowell) in the movie the fighter.) now i know why - outsiders don't belong in southie, even though i was probably just on the edge, especially if they're carrying a camera around.
