Portrait in Sepia: A Novel

Portrait in Sepia - Isabel Allende this followed the characters from the preceding novel far less than i expected or wanted, but i still found this a really satisfying read. although i really didn't enjoy my recent revisitation of the house of the spirits, it was still fun to get background on the family in that story. (she gives detail on the lives of people that we don't know too much about in that first book. this book is in no way a prequel though, it just has some of the same characters and a bit of continuity that i guess just rewards her readers, but doesn't add or detract from either as stand-alone novel.) the main narrating character in this book finds herself as a photographer, and i mostly really like her interpretation and ideas around that.
