i was surprised to like this book (i hate the title), and was especially surprised to find it really beautifully written. it reminded me of olive kitteridge in how the chapters introduce you to different characters who all somehow intersect together but that also all stand alone, but the book still seemed unique to me. (one chapter was a powerpoint presentation, for example.) it's about aging, music, relationships. it's surprising in a lot of places, and definitely kept me engaged.
